What is an SF₆ Gas-Filled Cabinet?
The SF₆ gas-filled cabinet, also known as SF₆ gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear, has its core feature of integrating key electrical components such as SF₆ circuit breakers, SF₆ load switches, vacuum interrupters, and SF₆ voltage transformers， into a sealed metal enclosure.

This is the most critical characteristic of SF₆ switchgear. When the high-voltage switch breaks the fault current, an arc is generated. SF₆ gas can quickly absorb free electrons generated by the arc, suppress the combustion and diffusion of the arc, and extinguish the arc in an extremely short time, preventing explosion or fire caused by arc erosion of equipment, which greatly improves the breaking capacity and safety of SF₆ distribution cabinets.
3.Chemical stability and anti-corrosion
SF₆ gas has stable chemical properties, is not easy to react with other substances, and is non-conductive and non-flammable. After being filled into sealed equipment, it can isolate moisture, oxygen, and corrosive gases from the outside world, protect internal metal components from oxidation and corrosion, and extend the service life of the equipment.
4.Adaptable to compact equipment design
Due to its outstanding insulation and arc-extinguishing performance, SF₆ switchgear does not need to reserve a large insulation distance like air-insulated equipment, which can realize small size and compact structure, saving installation space.
